Intensive or extensive course: which one suits you

The usual question: should I sign up for an intensive or take it more slowly? The answer depends on two things, your goal and your time. We make it clear to you.

In short: if you have come to Valencia to level up quickly, or need a study visa, your course is the Intensive Plus of 20 hours. If you live here, work or study something else and want to advance without stress, yours is the Extensive of 4 or 6 hours.

• Extensive · 4 hours per week. For those who want to advance without Spanish taking up the entire agenda. €40 per week from 4 to 19 weeks, €36 from 20 to 49 and €34 from 50 weeks.

• Extensive Plus · 6 hours per week. Good balance between moving forward with ease and continuing to enjoy the city. €60 per week from 4 to 13 weeks, €54 from 14 to 33 and €48 from 34 weeks.

• Intensive · 10 hours per week. The most chosen option for immersion stays. €100 per week from 1 to 7 weeks, €90 from 8 to 19, €85 from 20 to 39 and €80 from 40 weeks.

• Intensive Plus · 20 hours per week. Maximum speed, designed to level up in a short time. €200 per week from 1 to 3 weeks, €180 from 4 to 9, €170 from 10 to 19 and €160 from 20 weeks onwards.

The more weeks you hire, the less you pay per week. And class materials and the attendance certificate are included in all our courses.

This is the part that almost no one tells you and the one that will help you the most decide. These are the class hours needed, as a guide, to complete a level of the Common European Framework and move on to the next:

• A1 Access: 80 to 100 hours.

• A2 Platform: 100 to 140 hours.

• B1 Threshold: 120 to 180 hours.

• B2 Advanced: 150 to 200 hours.

• C1 Mastery: 180 to 240 hours.

• C2 Mastery: 210 to 260 hours.

Do the math with your pace: a complete A2 level is about 120 hours, that is, about 6 weeks in Intensive Plus, about 12 in Intensive or almost an entire course in Extensive. Neither option is better than the other, they are just different speeds.

• Small groups: maximum 10 face-to-face students.

• Classes of 1 hour and 50 minutes, and you choose how many sessions you do per day.

• Levels from A1 to C2, with level test

• You start any day from Monday to Friday. Beginners group every Monday.

• You make up the classes that you cannot attend: we prepare each class to the menu, depending on who comes.

• Materials and certificate of attendance included.

If your plan is to stay for an entire course, don't go for weeks: the fixed prices are much better. All with 20 hours per week:

• 30 weeks: €4,500

• 40 weeks: €5,400

• One year: €6,000

And an important note: if you are from outside the European Union and you are going to be longer of 12 weeks, you need a study visa, and to request it your course must have a minimum of 20 teaching hours per week. Can I change modality mid-course?

What is the minimum for the Extensive?
The Extensive and Extensive Plus sections start in 4 weeks. For shorter stays, your option is the Intensive or Intensive Plus, which are contracted for 1 week.

What happens if I miss classes?
You make them up. The system is flexible precisely for that.

What if I don't know what level I have?
